The PGA Centenary Course, one of three 18-hole championship courses at Gleneagles, will host The Solheim Cup in September.

Gleneagles, the world-famous Scottish hotel and sporting estate, is giving all golfers the chance to celebrate its hosting of The Solheim Cup, September 9-15, with the launch of a special four-ball green fee that runs until the end of April, 2019.

Four-ball groups can play any of the three championship golf courses at the 850-acre Perthshire estate for £201.90, a money-saving nod to this very special year in which Gleneagles also celebrates the centenary of its world-famous King’s and Queen’s golf courses, both designed by James Braid.

The King’s, a consistent feature in all leading UK Top 100 Course rankings, and The Queen’s, arguably the finest par 68 course in the UK, have both undergone careful restorations, bringing them back to Braid’s original vision of 1919.

Golfers can also choose to play The PGA Centenary Course, designed by 18-time Major winner, Jack Nicklaus, and the course that will host The Solheim Cup in the Autumn. It was also the course that witnessed an emphatic European Ryder Cup victory in 2014.

Guests will be experiencing Gleneagles at the top of its game, underlined by a host of recent awards from leading journals. These include:

–           No.1 Golf Resort in the UK and Ireland, Golf World, 2017

–           Best UK Golf Resort 2018, Square Mile

–           No.1, Top 100 Great Britain & Ireland Golf Resorts 2018, National Club Golfer

–           No.1 Ultimate Stay-and-Play Experiences, Golf World, 2018

–           Best Hotel/Resort in Scotland for six consecutive years, Today’s Golfer, 2014-2019

–           Best Golf Experience, Scottish Golf Tourism Awards, 2017

Gary Silcock, Director of Golf at Gleneagles, said: “We wanted to give every visitor the opportunity to celebrate with us, and we thought there was no better way than offering a green fee, where four-balls can create their own historic moment in our centenary year.”
