Young golfers came together recently at the Tudor Park Marriott Hotel & Country Club junior awards ceremony to celebrate a year of success.
As families looked on, 14 children aged from six to 17 were given medals and trophies reflecting their progression throughout 2018 on the 18-hole championship golf course in Bearsted, near Maidstone.
“We’ve had a fantastic year with lots of new faces to the junior camps, and many junior members progressing very well and demonstrating quality golf,” said Stephen Haffenden, Tudor Park’s junior golf organiser. “We now have a strong contingent of very good young golfers, some with single-figure handicaps, and we have felt very proud to nurture their development on the golf course and to watch them go onto represent their county in competitions such as the Wee Wonders British Championships this year.”
The ultimate prized trophy for the Junior Order of Merit went to Joshua Griggs. Aged 16, Josh has been playing at Tudor Park since he was 11.
