Royal Ashdown Forest Gears Up For Faldo Series Qualifier

10th hole on the Old Course at The Royal Ashdown Forest Golf Club on July 11, in Forrest Row, England.

THREE FALDO SERIES GRAND FINAL SPOTS UP FOR GRABS

Sussex, United Kingdom (August 21): Royal Ashdown Forest will host the second England South Championship of the season on August 21-23. The three category winners will qualify for the 22nd Faldo Series Grand Final in November.

80 boys will compete at Royal Ashdown Forest over three days on the stunning heathland layout in the Sussex countryside. The Old Course is ranked in the top 100 in the British Isles and is sure to provide a fine test for the hot prospects lined up to compete.

Charles Petrie and Charlie Salter are among the field and will be looking to build on their previous Faldo experience at Royal Ashdown Forest. Charles Petrie was only denied a spot in the 2017 Grand Final by a playoff defeat. Charlie Salter is a Faldo Series veteran and was the joint-leader at the 2017 Grand Final after the first round in Al Ain. The two will need to be on top of their game in a high quality field.

The tournament will be played over three rounds and is a World Amateur Golf Ranking event. The field will be divided into three age-groups and the winners of each division will again join Faldo at the season-ending 22nd Faldo Series Europe Grand Final.

Today, 40 Faldo Series tournaments take place in 30-plus countries worldwide, touching thousands of golfers each year. Past winners include Major Champions Tseng Ya-ni and Rory McIlroy, who took his tally of professional Major titles to four with his wins at the 2014 Open Championship and US PGA Championship.
