Moor Park Professional Matt Wallace Hits ‘Best Shot Of His Life’

On Saturday 11th August 2018, Moor Park Golf Club Professional, Matt Wallace, hit the ‘best shot of his life’ at the US PGA Championship.

Wallace, the 28 year-old three-time European Tour Winner, made his first professional hole-in-one on the 16th hole during the third round of the tournament.

He was delighted to experience this in front of the large crowd of over 3,000 people.  In his moment of celebration, Wallace threw the ball into the crowd and kindly went and signed it for the lucky catcher. He explained how he keeps his winning balls on the mantelpiece but this ball will have to live in his memory as being “pretty cool”.

The Moor Park professional finished in a tie for 19th place on a seven-under-par at Bellerive Country Club, achieving his first top-20 finish in a Major.

Amy Yeates, CEO at Matts’ home course, Moor Park Golf Club, stated “This really is what dreams are made of – a hole-in-one at a major championship.” Matt is going from strength to strength and is an exceptionally exciting golfer to be watching right now.
