Blackmoor Club Champion 2021 Secures Tenth Top Title

Blackmoor Golf Club member, Mark Burgess has secured his tenth club Championship title during the annual competition held on 24 – 25 July.


Mark won his first title back in 2005 and has since gone on to win a further nine club championships, reclaiming the top prize on Sunday with an impressive gross 73 and 67 – 140.

One of Blackmoor’s premier events, the competition attracts many of the club’s accomplished golfers to compete for the coveted Wishart Trophy.

During the weekend 133 golfers entered to play in two major competitions, the 36-hole Wishart Trophy Scratch Medal, won by Mark Burgess and the Kerridge

Bowl, a 36-hole Handicap Medal Championship, which went to Jason Thurgood with a net 70 and 68 – 138.

The third title of the weekend was played by the Ladies who competed on Sunday in the Ladies Summer Medal, an 18-hole competition won by Sheila Purvis with a 72.
