Popular pro from ProAgenda.com proves the only player to break par in new event

ProAgenda.com’s Guy Woodman has notched up his third victory of the 2018 season to date, winning the inaugural North Hants Invitational Pro-Am by two strokes with a 67*.

It was Woodman’s day all round, as he inspired his group to a clear victory in the team event as well.

Collecting the £600 winner’s cheque, Woodman was pleased with his performance but expressed surprise that his score hadn’t been bettered: “You have to play well to get the better of North Hants, but with most of the recent winners playing today, like Andy Raitt, Chris Rodgers, Craig Sutherland, David Copsey and Adam Wootton, I was convinced I wouldn’t be in the frame.”

He continued: “So I was really surprised to be the only player to break par. North Hants is a terrific course and I’d like to thank both the club and The PGA in England (South) for laying on such a great day’s golf.”

Woodman dropped just one shot, deuced the eighth and eagled the 17th on his way to his 67. Purley Downs’s Matt Rice was Woodman’s nearest challenger, and after starting at the sixth, he was two-under after 12.

But a bogey at the 13th and then a double at the 16th undid all the good work, although another birdie on the way home restored respectability with an even par card.
