The Shire London’s New Look Inspired By Top USA Golf Resorts

An iconic image of Severiano Ballesteros and a new-look logo now greet visitors to The Shire London’s brand-new website at www.theshirelondon.com, after the Hertfordshire venue unveiled its much-improved online portal.

Looking for the best green fee prices at The Shire, guaranteed? You’ll now find the best-available green fee offers in The Shire’s new-look online tee-time booking service.

The new website, designed and built by Fresh Lemon, also gives golfers much quicker access to the various Special Offers and best group golfing deals at The Shire.

The design also makes greater use of images taken by The Shire’s in-house photographer, Andy Hiseman, with mobile-responsive pages delivering the best-ever look at The Shire’s facilities – and the people who play there – via desktop, tablet and mobile phones.

The Shire London’s new logo was inspired by a visit which the club’s owners, the Menai-Davis family, made to the USA in early 2018, when they were given a guided tour of several iconic golf facilities by members of the Dye family, headed by famed golf course architect Pete Dye.

“Our new brand identity reflects the high-end look of many of the USA’s top golf resorts”  said club director Ceri Menai-Davis. “With new golf facilities on the horizon at the West London Links in Northolt and at The Dye London in Edgware, we wanted to create an identity which would work in harmony with these as we provide ever-more exciting facilities for golfers around London in the coming decade.”

The iconic fist-pumping Seve Ballesteros photo was taken by Dave Cannon as the six-time Major winner celebrated his 1984 Open Championship victory on the final green at The Old Course, St Andrews.

The Shire London is the home to the Ballesteros Masters Course, the UK’s only 18-hole design by the late Spanish maestro. The venue is also home to a challenging nine-hole Academy golf course, plus a short game centre, driving range and large undulating putting green with views of Seve’s spectacular S-shaped lake which wraps around the 18th green.
