Eddie Pepperell takes home £10,000 from digital currency after acing 9th hole at British Masters

Digital currency LIFElabs.io will fund a £10,000 prize for world number 50 and Frilford Heath’s Eddie Pepperell, after he became the first golfer to bag a hole-in-one on the crypto-sponsored 9th hole.

In line with its commitment to dedicate 30% of its currency (LIFEtokens) to global philanthropic causes, LIFElabs is matching Pepperell’s prize money with a donation to both Cancer Research UK and The European Tour Foundation, whose charity pick for 2018 is The Woodlands Special Needs School.

Just as the European Tour has been a leader in the field of golf regarding innovation and experimentation over the past two years to make the sport more accessible, LIFElabs is aiming to break down the barriers of digital currency in its mission to give everyone the opportunity to be part of the cryptocurrency revolution. They offer easy access to their currency while giving people the chance to give a little back to good causes around the world, simply through the way in which they choose to pay.

The historic event is taking place at Walton Heath, with the overall winner being revealed after the final round on Sunday 14th October. The field includes 2013 U.S. Open Champion Justin Rose playing host at the Surrey venue. He will head up a strong field, which also includes the reigning Race to Dubai Champion Tommy Fleetwood.
